Careers

In 2002 the Sarbanes-Oxley Act was enacted by Congress to establish new corporate governing standards for U.S. public companies. This has opened up opportunities in the information systems auditing arena. Graduates of this program can find employment in public corporations to assist with the implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley Internal Controls requirements, as project managers for the implementation of accounting systems in both public and private sector institutions. They can also work as accountants in a typical accounting department. Graduates who wish to obtain their Certified Public Accounting (CPA) can choose to transfer to another university to complete the required one hundred and fifty credits in order to qualify to sit for the exam and find employment with a public accounting firm.
