Welcome Week

Fall 2024 Welcome Week Orientation – Monday, August 19 - Sunday, August 25

Mission Statement: The mission of the Welcome Week Orientation program is to provide meaningful programs and services that will enhance students’ sense of belonging to the SUNY Delhi community that prepares and positions them for academic and personal success.

The Welcome Week Orientation Program is required for all new incoming undergraduate students.  This includes commuters and transfer students.

Online Component

Students were sent information to their SUNY Delhi email in July about Part 1 of the required course. Students also received an email to their SUNY Delhi email in early August about Part 2 of the required course.  The course is self-paced online.  Both parts must be completed before the first day of classes. Failure to complete the course will result in a hold on the student's records.  

ID Photos

You must submit a suitable photo for your ID card as soon as possible and well prior to Welcome Weekend.  You will need to bring a government issued ID card with you to receive your SUNY Delhi ID card.  This is a driver's license or government issued photo ID card.  Only the Delhi Student willbe able to obtaing their own ID card.  See link below for instructions.To learn how to submit your photo for your SUNY Delhi Student ID Card, see the instruction page for more details.

Residential Move-In Information

New Residential Student Move In is on Monday, August 19. Information on the arrival process, checking in, signing up for wireless internet, and more is located on the Incoming Students Arrival Information page. Please review this information prior to coming to campus. Additional information on the check-in process will be sent to your delhi student email address.   • Arrival times have been posted on the Student Housing Management System. Under '2024-2025 Academic Year', click on the "Arrival Time for New Students" link. If you have any questions, please contact your Residence Hall Director. The Residence Hall Director (RD) is the professional staff member who will oversee your residence hall. Phone numbers are available on our website on the Residence Life Webpage under “Professional Staff” on the menu at the top of the page.

Monday, August 19

8:00 am to 1:00 pm: Residential Move-in and Check in (Reference Check in Time listed in the Housing Management System), Residence Halls.

8:00 am to 2:00 pm:  Commuter Student Check-In, Alumni Hall, Front Porch

11:00 am to 2:00 pm: Welcome Week Opening Picnic, Campus Agora

3:00 pm:  Convocation, Clark Gym. The annual ceremonial beginning to the academic year and the start of your SUNY Delhi journey! This session is open to students and families/guests!

3:45 pm: Class Photo, Turf Field.

4:00 pm: Family Farewell. We kindly ask that parents, families, and guests of students say their goodbyes after Convocation/Class Photo so that students can focus on the Welcome Week Programming which starts thereafter.

5:00 pm:  Group Meeting #1, Various Locations.  Students are notified via their Orientation Group GroupMe of the location.

5:30 pm - 6:30 pm:  Dinner, Farrell Commons, Farrell Student & Commnity Center

6:30 pm:  Group Meeting #2, Various Locations

7:00 pm:  Floor Meetings, Residence Hall (only for Residential Students)

General Reminders and Resources

Welcome Week is a mandatory program for all new incoming students including commuters and transfer students.  Any checklist items or related matters should be completed before or after the program.  Please refer to the Accepted Students Page to ensure you have completed those checklist items.
