Heating Space Temperature Set Point Policy
Campus Heating Policy
SUNY Delhi is committed to providing a comfortable environment while promoting energy conservation and sustainability. To achieve these goals, the campus has developed a heating space temperature set point policy.
SUNY Delhi’s heating season begins in early October and ends in early May. During this period, the campus has implemented a policy that will set target space temperatures in campus buildings as follows:
- During occupied periods, (Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.), space temperatures will be targeted for 68 degrees, and, during unoccupied periods, space temperatures will be targeted for 55 degrees.
- These space temperatures will be maintained as close as possible. However, with different building system designs and controls, there may be periods when temperatures vary a few degrees above or below the targeted set points.
- If space temperatures drop below 65 degrees during occupied periods, or drop below 52 degrees during unoccupied periods, please notify the Facilities Department at x4020, during the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. The Facilities secretary will create a work order and notify the HVAC shop. On weekends or after hours, please contact the Heating Plant at x4037.
