SUNY Delhi’s School of Nursing is offering a new, flexible admissions pathway into our highly competitive Nursing program. If you don’t meet all the qualifications for acceptance through the criteria below, you may be accepted into our Biology program with an opportunity to transfer to the Nursing program after one year. Requirements and conditions apply.
Please note that SUNY Delhi’s Nursing program has limited seats available and is on a rolling admissions basis. After your acceptance, secure your spot by paying your deposit.
Nursing Student Acceptance Nursing Admissions Criteria 85+ High School GPA OR 65% TEAS 3 years of Math (Algebra, Geometry, Algebra Trigonometry or Algebra II, Or a college level Math) 2 years of sciences (chemistry suggested)4 years of English Transfer Student Acceptance Transfer Admissions Criteria 3.0 GPA OR 65% TEAS With 24+ credits Pathway through Biology
If you don’t meet all the above requirements, our Pathway through Biology allows you acceptance into our Biology program with an opportunity to transfer to the Nursing program after one year. This option is available to you if:
- You have an 75-84 GPA but don’t meet the other acceptance qualifications. If you take the TEAS exam with the required score, you can submit your score to be re-reviewed while space is available.
- You have a 75-80 GPA and a Regents diploma.
- You are applying to transfer to SUNY Delhi with a 2.0-2.9 GPA. If you take the TEAS exam and score 65% or higher, we will review your application on a case-by-case basis.
Once accepted into Biology, you must maintain a 3.0 GPA and apply as an internal transfer to the Nursing program during your first year. If you don’t meet the 3.0 GPA requirement, you will be able to complete an associate degree in Biology if all required coursework is completed.
Please note that pursuing a Nursing degree through the Biology pathway may add additional time for program completion.
TEAS Exam Deposit WaiverIf you are accepted to SUNY Delhi and have submitted your TEAS exam score, your deposit will be waived. Contact the Office of Admissions at enroll@delhi.edu or 607-746-4550 to notify us of your intention to attend Delhi.

The ATI TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) is designed specifically to assess a student's preparedness entering the health science fields. The ATI TEAS Test will be administered as a part of your basic admissions requirements. The ATI TEAS Test is similar to the SAT or ACT; however, it is designed specifically for health science schools like Nursing or Allied Health. The score you receive on the ATI TEAS Test will help schools determine your readiness for a Nursing or Allied Health program.
The ATI TEAS Test is comprised of 170 questions set up in a multiple-choice format. Questions are designed to test the basic academic skills you will need to perform in class in the areas of: Reading, Math, Science and English and Language Usage.
TEAS total exam score of 65 or higher will be considered for admission. Associate Nursing: Pre-Licensure program and Bachelor of Science in Nursing: Dual Degree, require the TEAS exam with a Total Exam Score: 65.

- TEAS Scores are valid for one calendar year. Students may take the exam two times in a calendar year and must wait a minimum of 30 days in between tests.
- Final decisions on applications are sent as soon as TEAS Exam and required documents are received.
- How to Register for TEAS

- Visit ATI Testing and create a user account.
- Log in to ATI Testing with your new username and password, and select the online store.
- Choose “Register for the TEAS.” Please check with the school to which you are applying to determine if they administer the ATI TEAS Exam on campus, or if they use a testing center such as PSI. This will determine how you register for the ATI TEAS.
- During the ATI TEAS Test Registration, you will be asked to choose an institution (school). A transcript of your ATI TEAS Test results will automatically be sent to that school. You can send results to more than one school for an additional fee.
- Following registration, you will receive a confirmation email from ATI. If you are registering for the ATI TEAS Test through a PSI Testing Center, you will receive an email from PSI with additional registration instructions.
