Deadlines for Dropping Classes
Dropping Classes
Course drop deadlines are published on the academic calendar.
Course drop forms are published on the Registrar's Forms page.
Students in On-Campus Programs wishing to drop must fill out an add/drop form and obtain all necessary signatures before bringing it to Registrar (124 Bush Hall) to be processed.
Students in Online Programs wishing to drop a course must fill out an add/drop form and forward it to the course instructor AND their academic advisor. Sending it from your SUNY Delhi e-mail address serves as your "signature." You must answer all questions. If the advisor approves the drop, they will forward the email with the attachment to the Registrar's Office to be processed. If the instructor objects to the drop, they must contact the Registrar's Office immediately to do so. The effective drop date of the course is based on the date stamp of the student's original email.
Dropping Below Full Time:
- Students who were registered for a full-time course load who will be dropping below full-time status must obtain the approval of their Program Director/Coordinator or Dean.
- Student Athletes dropping below full-time must also obtain a signature from Athletics (either the Director or Assistant Director).
- Students using financial aid (including but not limited to Pell Grants, Excelsior, and veterans' benefits) for their program should discuss the impact of dropping below full time on their eligibility for the program(s).
NOTES:
- Please don't wait until the last minute. If you are unable to obtain a reply from your instructor or advisor, you may seek the approval of your Dean or Program Director/Coordinator.
- There are fees associated with dropping a course after a certain percentage of the course has been completed. The deadlines to drop a course without a drop fee are specific to each part of term and are published on the academic calendar. Late course drops will result in a $20 fee being added to the student's account.
